Fellow skiers and boarders,
I know it may not seem like it just yet but its time to start thinking about getting the gear ready and the body conditioned for another fun season on the slopes and to start thinking about our Learn to Ski, Snowboard or Race Better Week at Copper Mountain. This years kick off event for the the 2019-20 season is December 8-13, 2019.
The whole process changed a couple of years back and is much like a regular ski week. We are no longer going through a third party and will be dealing directly with Copper. Check-in/Registration begins Sunday afternoon Dec 8th. Monday through Thursday will be spent on the slopes in small groups with an instructor working to make you a better skier or boarder. Throw in some apre ski time at some of Copper's best watering holes along with an awards dinner on Wednesday plus getting together with old friends and hopefully making some new ones and its sure to be a great week and one you don't want to miss.
This is one of the best bargains of the season and includes up to 5 nights lodging in a shared condo, 4 day lift ticket and 4 days of all day instruction/coaching in a small group. Starting at about $866/person for a shared Silver 2 bedroom condo (all meals and incidentals are your responsibility and are not included). Additionally, this a Club event and therefore payment of annual Club dues of $30 individual/$35 family is required to attend.
As I mentioned earlier, we are dealing directly with Copper now. Lodging will be handled just like a regular ski week. We have a room block of 17 units in the Center Village. If you already have a group that you room with every year or you have 2 or more people you should call and make your reservation for lodging. If you have space in your unit for additional people, please let me know and I will direct people that need a spot to you. If you are new or just coming by yourself, you can either make a lodging reservation or contact me and I will put you in touch with someone that has space in their unit. The Silver 2 Bedroom Condo (sleeps 4) is $206.22/night. This works out to $257.78 per person for the 5 nights. If you want a specific building (Mountain Plaza, Village Square etc), unit or bedding arrangement there is a 15% fee added to the pre-tax lodging cost. This is the policy for all groups staying at Copper. A detailed listing of all of the costs for the various lodging types will be on our website, ualskiclub.com We need a minimum of 25 people to get the group rates (see ps at bottom). One person needs to make a reservation for each group and pay a 15% of the total lodging rate deposit. Just like at a regular ski week you will have to divide the lodging costs up among the people in your unit.
Types of units available: Silver 1 and 2 Bedroom Condos, Gold 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Condos, Gold and Silver Hotel Rooms and Gold and Silver Studios.
The units will be blocked/held for our group until Fri Nov 8th, after that they are subject to availability. I realize that this is prior to most of you having your December schedules, but it is what it is. This is the latest date we could get them to hold the rooms and is later than it is for most groups. If you think you will be coming, I strongly recommend that you make your reservation prior to Nov 8th.
Each individual must call Central Reservations at 866-837-2996 with United Group Code: 4831 and purchase their own Lift Tickets, Coaching and Rental Equipment if needed.
Lift Tickets are $50/per day if purchased prior to Wed Dec 4th ( $65/day if purchased after 12/4).
Coaching is $122.35/day or $407.83 for the 4 days if purchased prior to Wed Dec 4th ($159.42/day or $531.42/ 4 days if purchased after 12/4) For Coaching only, you need to start on Dec 9th or 10th... it is very difficult to put you into a group after that.
Lift tickets and coaching tickets need to be picked up at the Guest Services Desk in Copper Sports, Center Village.
To start your registration/reservation, please call Copper Mountain Central Reservations at 866-837-2996. Use our United Group Code: 4831
If you have any questions, please call or email me.
So mark your calendars and start thinking about your bidding strategy for December 8-13, 2019 so you can join us at Copper Mountain for the United Ski and Snowboard Club's annual Learn to Ski, Board or Race Better Week.
See you at Copper,

ps: Every year we have a few people that go outside of this negotiated group deal and book portions of this event on their own. By doing this, you are affecting our numbers and the deal that we get from Copper. This ends up costing everyone more in the long run and Copper is less interested in our business as well. So please don't do this! (Obviously, if you have a season pass for Copper you don't have to buy additional lift tickets in the package).
